Victoriabank's history

Victoriabank was founded in December 1989. Established during a period of transformation and progress, the bank represented the spirit of the struggle for success and the desire to evolve from the very beginning.

Over 34 years of existence, Victoriabank has solidified its position as a significant player in the Moldovan banking system. The bank evolved rapidly, becoming recognized as one of the top three financial institutions in the Republic of Moldova.

Since January 2018, Victoriabank became part of Banca Transilvania, the largest financial group in Romania, bringing additional benefits and opportunities for its clients. This occurred after BT became a shareholder in Victoriabank, and together with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, they hold a stake of over 66%.

In December 2019, marking its 30th anniversary, Victoriabank reinvented its brand identity. This transformation brought a new energy and a modern character, reflected both in the digital and physical presence of the bank. However, the essence and core values of Victoriabank remained unchanged.

Victoriabank in numbers 

Over 300,000 active clients, 70 branches in major towns across the country. The bank employs 1,200 people with an average age of 36 years, including individuals still employed since the bank's founding.
